For a change, let’s start with Boxing. Not because there’s a must watch fight, but purely because of the oddity that’s taking place this weekend. Roy Jones is 51 years of age, and Mike Tyson is 54 years of age. Jones, in his prime, was widely regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in the world. He won World titles at Middleweight, Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight. He was a ground breaker, and he was must-see TV. The thing is, his prime was a ten year run from 1993 to 2003.
Tyson, at the peak of his powers, was the most devastating, destructive boxer the world has ever seen. He was a stone cold killer who knocked opponents out in spectacular fashion. But, Tyson’s prime was 1986 to 1996.
These men really shouldn’t be fighting at all in 2020, let alone fighting each other. Forgetting the obvious issues of a natural Middleweight in Jones taking on a lifelong Heavyweight, Tyson hasn’t fought professionally in 15 years. Jones did continue fighting right up until 2018 but has looked a shell of himself since his KO defeat to Antonio Tarver in 2004. Men in their 50’s shouldn’t be fighting, especially when one hasn’t fought in 15 years and the other finds himself being outweighed substantially.
But then again, BECAUSE it’s 2020 of course Roy Jones and Mike Tyson should be fighting! What else would you expect from THIS year. This fight won’t be a classic, but it might offer some nostalgia. It’s an exhibition fight, there’s no judges and both have agreed not to hunt a knock-out, though whether Tyson can help himself remains to be seen. As a boxing match, it’s likely to be a train-wreck, but if you yearn for the golden era of Boxing then it’s worth a watch.

Moving on to football, fancy watching a 1-1 draw? Wolfsburg take on Werder Bremen on Friday Night! Bremen seem to have made a conscientious decision to just draw every game 1-1 and Wolfsburg aren’t afraid of a draw either, racking up five so far this season. That’s a combined ten draws between them, this game can only end in a draw, can’t it?
It’s actually not a great weekend of fixtures in the Bundesliga, though Bayer Leverkusen vs Hertha Berlin on Sunday afternoon is a good opportunity to throw an eye on some very exciting young players like Florian Wirtz, Edmond Tapsoba and Matheus Cunha.
First faces third in La Liga on Sunday night as Real Sociedad welcome Villarreal to San Sebastian. Sociedad have enjoyed their best start to a season in years and have fans dreaming of a return to the glory days of the early 80s when they secured the only La Liga titles in their history.
The only issue with that La Liga contest is that it clashes with Napoli vs Roma in Serie A. This game should be a lot of fun, but mostly it’s worthy of watching as an ode to El Diego. We lost the best player the world has ever seen this week, and his former club will no doubt wish to honour the memory of their icon with a win.
Ligue 1, like the Bundesliga, doesn’t throw up any real eye catching fixtures but the stand-out is probably Marseille vs Nantes. Marseille have enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign and though they do currently sit sixth, they do have two games in hand which could see them gain six points and launch themselves into second place.

The Rugby season is really in full flow and there are games galore this weekend, at both club and international level. Let’s start with the internationals, and acknowledge that Argentina are currently experiencing their greatest ever mini run of form, with a win over New Zealand and a draw with Australia in their last two games. They’ll face New Zealand again this Saturday morning, Live on Sky Sports with an 8.45am kickoff time.
The Autumn Nations Cup rolls on with Wales vs England at 4pm on Saturday, followed by France vs Italy at 8pm on the same day. Those games are live on Amazon Prime. Sunday sees Ireland take on Georgia at 2pm, Live on Channel 4 and RTE.
There’s Gallagher Premiership action Friday, with Newcastle vs Sale live on BT Sport at 7.45pm, Saturday, with Northampton vs Harlequins, Bristol vs Worcester, Gloucester vs Wasps and Exeter vs Bath all live on BT Sport with coverage starting at 2pm, and on Sunday with London Irish taking on Leicester on BT Sport at 4.15pm
More of a Guinness Pro14 fan? No problem, Saturday sees Connacht take on Ospreys at 7.35pm on Premier Sports, Sunday’s card has Benetton vs Dragons followed by Cardiff vs Glasgow Live on Premier Sports from 4pm, and Monday offers Edinburgh vs Ulster and Munster vs Zebre, once again Live on Premier Sports with both games kicking off at 8.15pm.

There is, of course, a UFC event this weekend because it’s the weekend and they are the UFC. It’s very much a secondary card though the headline fight of Curtis Blades vs Derrick Lewis could well determine the next challenger to Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight title. Blades, 14-2, is riding a four fight winning streak and his only defeats have come against the monstrous Francis Ngannou. Lewis, 21-7, has beaten Ngannou and has also won his last three fights. At 35 he might view this as his last run towards a world title, and he’ll want to make the most of it.

Lewis Hamilton has already secured the Drivers’ Championship, and Mercedes have run away with the Constructors Championship, but the Formula 1 season is not yet over. This weekend sees the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first of back to back Grand Prix to be held at Bahrain International Circuit over the next two weekends. Hamilton will be looking for his fourth career win in this event, though whether he goes for the win or just cruises given he’s already secured the title remains to be seen. Perhaps his team-mate Valtteri Bottas has an opportunity to claim his third win of the season.

Last but certainly not least, it’s Thanksgiving Weekend in America, which does mean we’ve already seen three NFL games take place on Thursday but there’s still plenty of action left on the schedule.
Up first, at 6pm on Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts take on the Tennessee Titans in a match-up between the two best teams in the AFC South. Both teams come into this game with 7-3 records, though the Colts have a recent win over the Titans giving them the edge in the standings. If Tennessee want to secure a higher seed in this year’s playoffs, this is a must win game for them. Tennessee will need Derrick Henry to be at his very best if they want to come away from Lucas Oil Stadium with the win.
Up next is the battle between the greatest quarterback ever and the undisputed best player in the game right now, as Tom Brady and the Buccaneers play host to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes, the 2018 MVP and favourite to win that award again this season, has led his team to a 9-1 record and turned in a stunning game winning performance against the Raiders last weekend. Brady and his 7-4 Bucs bounced back from their embarrassing defeat to New Orleans with a comprehensive win over the Carolina Panthers last weekend. Both teams have real SuperBowl ambitions and for a Bucs team looking to be taken seriously, a win over the reigning Champions would go a long way.
Finally, in Sunday’s late game it’s a NFC North match-up between two of the great rivals in the NFL as Green Bay take on the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field. Aaron Rodgers, arguably the best pocket passer in the NFL over the last 10 years, is still going strong and has led his team to a 7-3 record despite limited help on offense outside of Aaron Jones and Davante Adams. After losing last time out, against the Colts, the Packers will want to get back to winning ways and the 5-5 Bears represent a great opportunity to do just that. The Bears had been one of the NFL’s surprise stories after going 5-1 through the first six weeks but four straight defeats has left fans and media alike demanding a change at Quarterback where Nick Foles has really been having a tough time.
And that’s that. That is the weekend of sport available to you this weekend. Turn on your Liberty Shield VPN to avoid any blocks on your streaming service, relax and enjoy yourself. No VPN? No problem. Click here, pick your preferred option and then use my code EPLVPN to get 20% off at check-out.
