Fans in the stands in real numbers will be our first visual sign of the end of this pandemic in a sporting sense. Fun Fact: Live Sport Streaming is one of the most searched terms on Google!
Our Live Sport VPN articles are brought to you in partnership with EPL Index, and Dave Hendrick – host of the Two Footed Podcast, offering FREE podcasts to football fans.
Anyway, the weekend is somehow here again so as usual we’ve put together a somewhat exhaustive list of the best live sport available to you this weekend so let’s just jump straight into.
⚽ Live Football Streaming VPN
🖥️ Live BT Sport & Premier Sport Streaming
This weekend there’s loads of good football. As ever we’ve previewed the best Premier League games and that can be found right here, but it’s not all that’s available to you. It’s worth noting that there’s Premier League every day from Saturday through to Thursday which can never be a bad thing.
Moving around Europe there’s some decent action, and not just in the top five leagues either.
Starting in La Liga, Saturday at 3.15pm sees Sevilla take on Barcelona in a top four clash. Both sides come into the game in great form, with Sevilla having won their last six league games in a row, and Barca unbeaten in their last 14 league games. These teams are set to play twice in a matter of days with the second leg of the Copa Del Rey semi-final on Wednesday, with Sevilla holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg. Both sides suffered disappointing defeats in their Champions League last 16 first leg ties and will know that a top four finish is their only chance of qualifying for next season’s competition. Both are within touching distance of first place Atletico Madrid as well, so a win here could even be crucial in a potential challenge for either side.
After that it’s time for the Bundesliga. 5.30pm is the kickoff time for RB Leipzig vs Borussia Monchengladbach. Leipzig are second in the table, just two points behind Bayern Munich, and know that the will have to keep winning games if they want to overhaul the Bavarians who surely won’t continue to falter. Gladbach are a disappointing 8th and in a state of flux after it was announced that manager Marco Rose will depart at the end of the season to join Borussia Dortmund. They will be desperate to get their season back on track, and make sure that their own new manager at least has European football to look forward to. Both sides lost to English competition in their Champions League last 16 first leg ties, so it really is league or bust for both.
Saturday at 8:30pm is time for the Portuguese Primeira Liga to take centre stage with 2nd placed Porto hosting run away league leaders Sporting CP at Estadio do Dragao. There’s a 10 point gap between the teams and Sporting remain unbeaten in league play this season. They’ve build one of the most exciting teams in Europe off the back of the money they received for Bruno Fernandes and their academy. Pedro Goncalves is the undisputed star of the team and has bagged 14 goals in just 18 league appearances, but keep an eye on the flying wingback pair of Pedro Porro and Nuno Mendes who are both destined for great things. Porto are no slouches though, they are unbeaten in the league since October and boast plenty of firepower in attack.
You’ll have to make a decision on Sunday night. Sheffield United are playing Liverpool in the Premier League at 7:15pm but at 8pm there’s two cracking matches taking place on the continent.
In Serie A its AC Milan vs AS Roma. Milan sit second in the table having been overtaken by neighbours Inter following three defeats in their last five games. After their brilliant start to the season they have hit a rough patch and will want to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible. Zlatan is there to win titles and they can’t afford to waste the last great years of his career. As for Roma, they’ll likely be very happy with 4th given having been beaten to a Champions League spot last season by Lazio. Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have led their attack this season but it remains to be seen how long Dzeko sticks around as he’s rumoured to have had a falling out with manager Paulo Fonseca. Both sides need the win to achieve their ambitions for the season, so this should turn out to be a good game.
At the same time, in Ligue 1 it’s Marseille against Lyon. This game would have been more interesting a few months ago before Marseille’s season went off the rails but it should still provide an exciting game of attacking football. Marseille are 7th, likely too far behind 4th placed Monaco to make the Champions League, but well positioned in the race for a Europa League spot. They have no manager, they’re up for sale and a couple of their best players want to leave but they’re still capable of good performances as they showed in beating Nice recently. Lyon are three points behind Lille at the top of the table and have their sights firmly set on a first Ligue 1 title since 2008, With Memphis Depay leading the line, and Houssem Aoauar and Lucas Paqueta creating magic in midfield, they’re a formidable side. This game should almost guarantee goals.

Back to back Heavyweight Main Events for the UFC, as this weekend’s Fight Night sees number 4 ranked contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik take on number 7 ranked Ciryl Gane in what should be a firefight. Both men come from kickboxing backgrounds and have impressive finishing records in the UFC. Jairzinho 11-1 put on an excellent display last time out when he stopped former Champion Junior Dos Santos as he bounced back after his KO defeat to Francis Ngannou. Gane looked just as impressive when he stopped Dos Santos four months after Jairzinho did it to extend his record to 7-0, 3-0 in the UFC. At 6’6 Gane is an intimidating figure and knows that a win over Jairzinho will propel him into the title discussion.
The co-main event is a battle made in the old Soviet Union as Light Heavyweights Nikita Krylov from Ukraine takes on Russia’s Magomed Ankalaev in another contest that’s unlikely to require any judges. Krylov is a finishing machine, with 25 of his 26 wins coming by KO or submission. Ankalaev boasts 9 KO wins himself and has been brilliant in each of his last four fights, winning performance of the night honours for three of them.

The eyes of the Boxing world will be firmly fixed on the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida this weekend as the biggest draw in the sport today, Saul Canelo Alvarez returns to action just two months after putting on a clinic against Britain’s Callum Smith to defend the titles he won that night against Turkey’s Avni Yildirim. How any sanctioning body has decided upon Yildirim as a mandatory challenger given he lost his lost fight against Anthony Dirrell on a technical decision, and hasn’t fought in two years, is beyond comprehension. Canelo, a four weight world champion, is likely using this fight as a warm-up for either a unification bout with IBF Champion Caleb Plant, or his trilogy fight with Triple G. He can’t overlook Yildirim but expectations are that Canelo will put on yet another clinic and retain his titles.

It’s a quieter weekend in Golf, with the Puerto Rico Open taking place at the Grand Reserve Golf Club. In truth, the entire focus of the Golfing world has been on the health of Tiger Woods following his horrific car crash and the injuries he sustained as a result of it. The Puerto Rico Open is largely a secondary tournament and the lack of star names in the field is evidence of that.

The Players Championship is the focus for the world’s top snooker players this week. Judd Trump, the two time Champion, was stunned in the first round by Stuart Bingham which immediately ruined hopes of Trump vs Ronnie O’Sullivan in the semi-finals. Those two have split the last four tournaments, with Trump winning in 2017 and 2020 and O’Sullivan the two inbetween. O’Sullivan has made it to the semi’s, where he will face Barry Hawkins – who eliminated Bingham. On the other side of the draw Kyren Wilson will take on the John Higgins, who upset Mark Selby to earn his spot in the semi’s.

And finally the NBA, where ignorance is bliss and money is King. No matter what happens, the NBA just carries on regardless because it’s stakeholders, much like those in the NFL who continually disregarded the health of the players, insist that they two. They’re barreling towards their All Star game which looks set to be an utterly pointless event. In the meantime there are games that matter taking place and the best of those this weekend are:
- Friday: Celtics vs Pacers, Heat vs Jazz, Lakers vs Trail Blazers
- Saturday: Spurs vs Pelicans, Thunder vs Nuggets, Nets vs Mavericks
- Sunday: Bucks vs Clippers, Raptors vs Bulls, Lakes vs Warriors
No matter what you’re sporting preferences are, there should be something on for you this weekend. Settle into your favourite armchair, switch on your Liberty Shield VPN and enjoy the action while keeping your data safe.
