⚽ Newcastle United vs West Ham United

NEWWHU Newcastle West Ham Premier League VPN IPTV Stream

A battle of teams at opposite ends of the table, both playing with lots of motivation but with managers in very different places in their careers. Newcastle fans would very much like to see Steve Bruce leave this summer and be replaced by a more progressive manager who might bring a more entertaining style of football to the club and see Newcastle do something other than assault people’s eyeballs on a weekly basis. David Moyes on the other hand has recaptured the magic that made him one of the best managers in the league at Everton, and if he gets West Ham into the Champions League the Hammers faithful may demand that he get a statue and lifetime contract.

Newcastle come into this game off the back of a good draw at home to Tottenham and a come from behind win away to Burnley. Those results, combined with a horrible run of form for Fulham have given them a six point advantage in the battle for survival. The Toon also hold a game in hand over the London side and know that a couple more good results will see them secure another season in the Premier League.

Whether survival is enough to secure Bruce another year in the job remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – if there had been fans at St. James’ Park this season he would likely have already received his marching orders. Newcastle have been largely terrible since mid-December and a terrible brand of football combined with terrible results is the best way to find yourself on the wrong side of the Newcastle faithful. Mike Ashley may not be popular with the locals but he’s a smart enough man to understand the need for self preservation. An unpopular manager is a great shield for an unpopular owner, until it gets truly toxic. If the stadium was even 10% as toxic as social media, Ashley would have to act. Toon fans are a patient bunch, but even they have a breaking point and watching their team play home games where they have one shot in 90 minutes would likely be that breaking point.

Ryan Fraser, Jamaal Lascelles, Isaac Hayden and Fabian Schar are all ruled out for Newcastle and Bruce will hoping they don’t suffer any more injuries as he attempts to steer them to safety.

West Ham, by contrast, have over performed expectations all season. Or more specifically, since losing 2-0 to Newcastle on the opening day of the season. A team tipped to battle relegation this season, they currently sit 4th in the Premier League with seven games remaining and one of the more favourable run-ins among the five teams in contention for 3rd and 4th. David Moyes has done an incredible job and should be a unanimous pick as Manager of the Year this season.

Moyes has managed to get career best seasons out of the majority of his players and in Declan Rice and Thomas Soucek he has developed one of the best midfield pairings in the league. Those two provide the defensive shield to enable West Ham to be very hard to beat, and also provide the attacking platform that enables their fullbacks and attacking foursome to take risks. Soucek himself isn’t shy about popping with a goal every few weeks either. The injury to Declan Rice is a hammer blow and the England midfielder might not play again this season. Combined with injuries to Ogbonna and Antonio it couldn’t really have come at a worse time for Moyes’ men.

On top of Ogbonna, Antonio, and Rice, West Ham have major doubts of Aaron Cresswell, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini and Darren Randolph for this weekend, whilst Mark Noble faces a late fitness test.

⚽ Arsenal vs Fulham
📅 Sunday 18 April 2021
⏰ 1330 UK Kick-Off
🖥️ Sky Sports Live Streaming

Two men who are perhaps more familiar with meeting each other in the middle of a Premier League pitch will occupy the dugouts on Sunday as Mikel Arteta tries to rescue Arsenal’s domestic season against Scott Parker and his Fulham team who are in desperate need of points to save themselves from the drop.

Arsenal advanced to the semi-finals of the Europa League last night with arguably their best performance of the season as they overcame Slavia Prague 4-0 in the second leg of their tie. A game that came on the heels of Slavia’s Ondrej Kudela being handed a 10 match ban for racially abusing Glenn Kamara of Rangers in the last round began with Alexandre Lacazette taking a knee in front of the entire Slavia team, and ended with the Frenchman bagging a brace in his side’s impressive win. It was no surprise that the stars of the show were young tandem Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, the two men who have likely saved Arteta’s job on multiple occasions this season.

Arsenal will not have envisioned themselves sitting in ninth place at this point in the season when they handed out big contracts to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Willian but the fact that those two and other senior players have been so consistently poor this season is the main reason for their plight. Their decision to attempt to compete while rebuilding was misguided and has left an unbalanced team still in need of major surgery, and major question marks over both Arteta and Sporting Director Edu. Both former midfielders appear to be in over their heads as they try to lead one of England’s biggest clubs back to the Premier League summit. Two of the few positives for Gooners are Smith Rowe and Saka, two generationally talented players with the potential to form the basis of the next great Arsenal team.

The Gunners will be without Martin Odegaard, Kieran Tierney and David Luiz this weekend but there is hope that Aubameyang could return after illness.

Like Arteta, Scott Parker appears to be in over his head at the Premier League level and his shortcomings are a big reason for Fulham’s failures this season. To be 18th, six points off safety, with only six games left to play is very disappointing given the level of talent in the Fulham squad. Parker could have no complaints over the calibre of players recruited last summer, or of the addition of Josh Maja in January, he has simply failed to get the best out of them. While journalist rushed to praise Parker for a run that saw Fulham lose only four games between December 13th and March 7th, a 17 game stretch, they neglected to mention that they won only three games in that time and that they never moved above 18th position in that time.

Parker now has six games to save Fulham and keep them in the Premier League. Six games that see them face Arsenal, Chelsea, Burnley, Southampton, Manchester United and what was hoped could be a final day loser leaves the division clash with Newcastle, that now looks more likely to be a game of absolutely no consequence unless Newcastle lose their next six games in a row and Fulham find some winning form in that time. Four straight defeats leading into this game isn’t ideal preparation, they’ll need to improve drastically if they want to leave the Emirates with anything more than a hammering.

Ademola Lookman and Tom Cairney remain sidelined for this one whilst Marek Rodak continues the world’s slowest recovery from a finger injury.

⚽ Leeds United vs Liverpool
📅 Monday 19 April 2021
⏰ 2000 UK Kick-Off
🖥️ Sky Sports Live Streaming

Both teams come into this game on three match winning runs in the Premier League. That’s the best run of Leeds’ season and joint best of Liverpool’s. It’s the second meeting of Marcelo Bielsa and Jurgen Klopp, arguably the two most popular managers in the Premier League among neutrals, and should make for a good game of football between two teams that are better going forward than they are at defending, though in Liverpool’s case it’s largely down to the Van Dijk injury.

Leeds have been very impressive in their first season back in the Premier League, and when you consider the injury issues they’ve suffered, the short turn around between seasons due to the pandemic and the fact that two other two teams who came up both look like they will be heading straight back to the Championship, their current league position of 10th is a fantastic achievement. At worst it looks like they will finish 11th, but if they could string together a few more wins they could even threaten the top 8.

The biggest compliment that can be paid to them is that they don’t play like a newly promoted team. They don’t show any hesitancy or fear in their play. Whoever the opposition, Leeds believe themselves to be capable of matching and beating them. That’s testament to Bielsa the manager and the motivator. He has gained complete buy-in from his squad and used the players at his disposal cleverly to make sure that Leeds always match up well with their opposition. He’s helped by the unusual number of positionally versatile players that Leeds have in their squad but that has been done by design more so than fluke. Whether it’s the 4-1-4-1, the 3-1-3-3 or any other formation that Leeds line-up in, the ethos remains the same. Defend as one, attack as one, work for each other on and off the ball.

Liam Cooper will miss this game through suspension and there are injury doubts over Raphinha and Rodrigo but Adam Forshaw could be in-line to be included in the match-day squad for the first time in 20 months after overcoming a terrible hip injury.

Liverpool have not been so impressive in their first season as defending Premier League Champions. Injuries have spoiled their season but the massive drop-off in form from the likes of Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson, coupled with the overplaying and exhaustion of Andy Robertson and Gini Wijnaldum have played a part as well. Of the much-vaunted front three only Mohamed Salah has performed at anything close to his expected level this season. Fabinho has enjoyed an excellent campaign but was forced to spend much of it playing in central defense and that had a devastating effect on Liverpool’s midfield, in which Thiago Alcantara has struggled to show what he’s capable after arriving from Bayern Munich.

The Reds started the season well, winning their first three games before falling apart against Aston Villa in an embarrassing 7-2 defeat. It was in the game that followed, away to Everton, that their season changed for the worst though. Virgil Van Dijk suffered a torn ACL after a horror tackle from Jordan Pickford and at that moment Liverpool’s hopes of retaining the title ended. Regardless of the calibre of players left in the team and any subsequent injuries, Van Dijk is Liverpool’s best and most important player. The leader and organiser of the team on the pitch, they have looked a shell of themselves without him. The lack of leadership in the team since that day in October has been one of the most striking aspects of their disappointing season.

They crashed out of the Champions League in midweek and will need to rely on a top four finish to secure a spot in next season’s competition, making this a must win game for the Champions. They will be without Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip who have all been ruled out for the season. Divock Origi, Caoimhin Kelleher and Jordan Henderson are all ruled out with no timetables for their return, while Curtis Jones is likely to miss out again due to a muscle issue.
