We normally start with football, but with Scotland having already won the most important match of the week/month/year/century, there’s really not a whole lot worthy of your time this weekend. If you insist on watching Nations League matches, then Portugal vs France on Saturday and Belgium vs England on Sunday are probably the two most interesting match-ups of the weekend.

Golf very much takes centre stage this weekend with The Masters taking place at the historic and beautiful Augusta National Golf Club. Normally the April showcase of the Golf calendar, the pandemic delayed this historic event by seven months and means that it will take place without spectators in attendance.
Tiger Woods, in a massive surprise, won last year’s tournament. It marked Woods’ fifth Masters success and came 22 years after his first. The man who was once the undisputed best player on the planet has fought back from terrible injuries and a chaotic personal life, to once again become a competitor at the highest level. He’s begun this year’s competition well, shooting a four under 68, and sits three strokes behind England’s Paul Casey who leads the field on seven under after a masterful round of 65.
For many years non-golf fans watched just to see Tiger play, such was his draw. With Woods right in the mix early on, it’s definitely worth tuning in again.

There’s a full weekend of Rugby, both club and international, on offer this weekend. With South Africa, Australia and New Zealand unable to travel to the Northern Hemisphere for the traditional Autumn Internationals, we are being treated to the Autumn Nations League instead. Friday sees Ireland face Wales at 7pm, live on Channel 4, RTE and S4C. Saturday gives us Italy vs Scotland at 12:45pm live on Amazon Prime, and following that there’s England vs Georgia at 3pm which is also live on Amazon Prime. And on Sunday it’s France vs Fiji at 3pm, once again live on Amazon Prime.
These games will have no real bearing on much of anything, though Georgia and Fiji could raise their profiles with a couple of decent performances. This competition will run throughout November and December and will at least give management the opportunity to blood fresh talent into their teams.
The Southern Hemisphere offers us a Tri-Nations contest on Saturday morning as New Zealand take on Argentina at 6.10am, live on Sky Sports. The All-Blacks lost the fourth test of the Bledisloe Series to Australia but had done enough in the second and third test to secure the famous old trophy over the aggregate scores.
The Guinness Pro14 is busy this weekend, starting with Connacht vs Scarlets at 7.35pm on Saturday, live on Premier Sports and eir Sport. Sunday was meant to throw up a double header but Glasgow vs The Dragons has been called off due to a Covid-19 outbreak within the Dragons dressing room. Munster vs Ospreys is still set to go ahead though, that game is at 2.45pm and live on eir Sports and S4C.
Monday is the day though, a triple-header of Zebre vs Ulster at 6pm, Cardiff vs Benetton at 7.45pm and Leinster vs Edinburgh at 8.15pm. Each of these games is available on Premier Sports and eir Sport.

Boxing fans can’t help but be excited this weekend with Katie Taylor, arguably the greatest female boxer of all time, taking on Miriam Gutierrez in the second defence of her unified LightWeight titles. That fight is the co-main event of the card at Wembley Arena. In the Headline fight, Terri Harper defends her WBC Super-FeatherWeight title against Katharina Thanderz. There’s been some talk that Harper could be next for Taylor if both win here, but neither woman can overlook their opponents. These fights are live on Sky Sports and DAZN.
The biggest boxing event of the weekend though takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as former World Champion Kell Brook takes on one of the world’s best fighters in Terrence Crawford for the WBO WelterWeight title. Brook carries a 39-2 record, with his only defeats coming against truly elite competitors in Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr. Unfortunately for Brook, Crawford is also a truly elite competitor and will be the heavy favourite in this fight. Many fight fans are hoping for a Crawford win to set up a unification fight with Spence Jr should the latter overcome Danny Garcia in 3 weeks time, but Crawford definitely won’t be overlooking Brook.

Also in Las Vegas on Saturday night, at the UFC Apex facility, UFC Fight Night: Felder vs Dos Anjos will take place. In the headline fight the 17-5 Paul Felder will take on former LightWeight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos(29-13). Both fighters need a big win here to get themselves back on track. Felder lost a split decision to Dan Hooker last time out, whilst Dos Anjos has lost four of his last five though it should be noted he has spent the past three years competing at WelterWeight against bigger men. It’s not a particularly stacked card, but there should still be some entertaining fights on the night.

It’s the fourth last round of the 2020 Grand Prix season, and this weekend it’s the Turkish Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton can wrap up yet another world title with victory here. It would be Hamilton’s seventh world title, drawing him level with the great Michael Schumacher. Though Schumacher drove in a far more competitive era, Hamilton’s consistency is remarkable as is the engineering prowess of Mercedes which has seen them win seven straight constructors championships.

Last but certainly not least, there’s a full slate of games in the NFL. There aren’t really any games that jump off the page though Sky Sports do have an interesting day planned on Sunday.
First off, at 5pm, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on NFC South rivals the Carolina Panthers. The 6-3 Bucs are coming off an embarrassing defeat to the New Orleans Saints last weekend and will want to take their frustrations out on the 3-6 Panthers. They got a big boost with the news that Carolina’s superstar running back Christian McCaffrey is unlikely to play. Tom Brady has had a difficult season so far, and hasn’t done much to quash the talk that he might not be worthy of a starting spot on a contender. He will want to showcase his ability to run an elite offense so it could be a long afternoon for the Panthers.
At 9.05pm the 5-3 Arizona Cardinals, lead by brilliant quarterback Kyler Murray host the 7-2 Buffalo Bills who will come to town full of confidence after their 44-34 win over Seattle last weekend. The Cardinals will want to rebound after a disappointing 34-31 defeat to the Miami Dolphins in a game they will feel they threw away. The battle of Murray, known for his ability to run from the pocket and throw laser sharp passes, and Josh Allen, owner of possibly the biggest arm in football, should be fascinating. It’s a battle of the old school in Allen and the new school in Murray and could lead to a very high scoring contest.
And that’s that. That is the weekend of sport available to you this weekend. Turn on your Liberty Shield VPN to avoid any blocks on your streaming service, relax and enjoy yourself. No VPN? No problem. Click here, pick your preferred option and then use my code EPLVPN to get 20% off at check-out.
