Live Sport Streaming – 15 and 16 May 2021 with Liberty Shield VPN

Hello, hello, hello and welcome to your Liberty Shields Live Sports blog for this upcoming weekend. Need a Live Sport Streaming VPN?

The good weather is finally here and the world is moving back towards normality. Vaccines are being administered, businesses are reopening, pubs and restaurants are operational and this is the last weekend in which fans will not be allowed to attend sporting events. Fun Fact: Live Sport Streaming is one of the most searched terms on Google!

Our Live Sport VPN articles are brought to you in partnership with EPL Index, and Dave Hendrick – host of the Two Footed Podcast, offering FREE podcasts to football fans.

Anyway, it’s the weekend again so as usual we’ve put together a somewhat exhaustive list of the best live sport available to you over the next few days so let’s just jump straight in.

There’s a near full round of Premier League games on, so as usual we’ve gone ahead and previewed three for you which can be read right here. There’s also the FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Leicester, which has been previewed for you right here.

Looking around the rest of the big five leagues, it’s a big weekend in a couple of them with games that could sway the title on offer.

Athletic Club vs Real Madrid IPTV La Liga VPN

Serie A – Juventus vs Inter Milan on Saturday at 5.00pm

The situation for Juventus is very simple, fail to beat Inter on Saturday and kiss goodbye to the Champions League if Napoli beat Fiorentina on Sunday. A point behind the Naples club, and three behind Atalanta and AC Milan, the chances of Juventus being in next season’s edition of Europe’s premiere competition are already slim given all three hold the head-to-head advantage over Juventus, the measure used in Serie A instead of goal difference when separating teams who finish on the same points.

Andrea Pirlo’s debut season as a manager has not gone well as Juventus surrendered the Serie A title they had held for nine years with little more than a whimper, but it will move from bad to disaster if they miss out on a top four spot. Antonio Conte and Inter Milan would like nothing more than to be the team who condemn Juve to life in the Europa League. Having already wrapped up the league title, they have little to play for but one would imagine that given the history between Conte and Juve, and the rivalry between Inter and Juve, they might almost see this as winning another trophy!

La Liga – Athletic Club vs Real Madrid on Sunday at 5.30pm

Real Madrid sit two points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid with two games left in the La Liga season and know that they can afford no more slip ups. They must win their last two and hope that their cross city rivals slip up. Having overcome 10th placed Granada in midweek, they must beat 9th placed Athletic on Sunday to maintain their slim chance of retaining their title.

It’s been a strange season for Real, playing away from the Bernabeu all season as it undergoes an enormous renovation, stuttering through a league campaign, ravaged by injuries and falling to Chelsea in the Champions League. Zinedine Zidane’s future remains a mystery, as does that of both Sergio Ramos and Rafael Varane. Real have done well to close the gap on Atleti after making a poor start to the season but second is never good enough for Los Blancos and heads could roll if they lose this weekend and hand the title to Diego Simeone’s men.

Bundesliga – RB Leipzig vs Wolfsburg on Sunday at 7.30pm

The title is already in Munich, but this battle between 2nd and 3rd still has a lot on the line. Julian Nagelsmann is set to leave Leipzig this summer to take over at Bayern and he will want to leave on a high. Leipzig fell flat in the DFB-Pokal final, losing 4-1 to Dortmund, and will want to bounce back immediately.

Wolfsburg are still trying to secure their own place in the next season’s Champions League. Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are two and three points behind them respectively and their spotty form has seen the gap they had built up over Dortmund evaporate. A win here should confirm their place due to their vastly superior goal difference to Eintracht Frankfurt. Frankfurt play Schalke, already relegated, in what should be a straight forward win so Wolfsburg know there is still pressure on them.

Ligue 1 – Lille vs St-Etienne on Sunday at 8.00pm

There are only two games left in the Ligue 1 season and Lille have one hand on the title. A three point lead means they need only win one and draw one of their last two games to be crowned Champions regardless of what happens in other games. This weekend they will take on mid-table St-Etienne who have nothing to play for and should prove easy pickings for the should-be Champions.

Lille have won three in a row and five of their last six and will be full of confidence heading into this game. This run has seen them take back control of the title, which they had lost after a poor spell in which they won only two of six and lost at home to Nimes. They will need to be cautious with St-Etienne, who have won back to back games, but their brilliant defense has provided them with a great platform all season. A win here will mean Lille only need a draw away to Angers next weekend to be confirmed as Champions. Should PSG fail to beat Reims, played at the same time, then a win will allow them to claim the title.

It’s hard to remember a UFC pay per view event that has had as little hype around it as this weekend’s UFC 262.

Featuring a title fight for the vacant Lightweight title between Charles Oliveira and former three time Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler in the main event, with long time Lightweight contender Tony Ferguson taking on the dangerous Beneil Dariush in the co-main event, this is a card that should have people excited. But there’s just no hype.

Perhaps it’s the records of the two fighters in the main event, Oliveira is 30-8 with one no contest and Chandler is 22-5. Chandler has also only had one fight in the UFC, and this will be Oliveira’s first time in the main event of a pay-per-view after 11 years and 25 fights with the UFC, but these are two fighters who demand respect. Oliveira is on an eight fight win streak, with seven of those wins coming by KO or submission. The only man who went the distance with him was Tony Ferguson, who Oliveira dominated for three rounds. Chandler is on a three fight win streak and all five of his defeats came in title fights. For his career he is 6-5 in title fights and holds wins over former UFC Lightweight Champions Eddie Alvarez and Benson Henderson. His last fight in Bellator ended in a KO win over Henderson, the second time he had defeated the former 155lb Champ. Perhaps it’s that fans felt Dustin Poirier should have been given the title shot, or that Conor McGregor should be in the title fight despite his loss to Poirier, or maybe it’s just disappointment that Khabib has retired and the title feels less important now. Whatever it is, this fight is one to look forward to.

As is the co-main as Ferguson looks to rebound off back to back losses having gone unbeaten for eight years. Dariush has won six in a row and will provide a really tough test for El Cucuy.

There’s only one fight of real note this weekend, but it could turn out to be a contender for fight of the year as two unbeaten world Bantamweight Champions meet in a unification fight. WBA Champion Brandon Figueroa, 20-0-1 takes on the outstanding 30-0 WBC Champion Luis Nery it what is certain to be an action packed fight.

These two fights have 40 KO victories between them, 16 to Figueroa and 24 to Nery, so either man is capable of ending the fight early and heading home with two belts. These two have been destined to fight for some time, and their last fights took place on the same card back on September 26th. On the night, Figueroa KO’d Damien Vasquez to retain his title while Nery outpointed the previously unbeaten Aaron Alameda to claim his.

It’s a very quiet weekend for cricket. Friday sees the Netherlands taking on Scotland in the second and final game of their One Day International series. If you watch this game, that should bring the total viewing audience to seven.

Outside of that the only other action is a the first of a three match One Day International series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka which takes place on Sunday, beginning at 9.30am.

The TPC Craig Ranch in the Dallas, Texas suburb of McKinney welcomes the PGA Tour for the AT&T Byron Nelson, formerly known as the Dallas Open Invitational and then the Byron Nelson Golf Classic. The tournament, named for the legendary Byron Nelson who won 5 Majors in the 30s and 40s, has seen it’s fair share of great action and it’s honour roll reads like a who’s who of the world’s best golfers over the past 67 years. From Nelson to Sam Snead, on to Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Phil Mickleson, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Ernie Els, the great players have played and won this competition.

It was a Covid casualty in 2020, so 2019 winner Kang Sung-hoon has enjoyed a two reign after winning his first, and so far only, event on the PGA Tour. JJ Spaun and Jordan Speith are the early leaders after one round but keep an eye on 2018 winner Aaron Wise who sits just one stroke back.

Both the ATP and WTA tours find themselves in Rome for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia as clay season continues in the run up to Roland Garros. Friday marks the start of the quarter finals with strong competition on both the mens and women’s side of the competition.

Number 1 seed Novak Djokovic faces number 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, number 2 Rafa Nadal takes on number 6 seed Alexander Zverev who beat him last week in Madrid en route to claiming the title, number 7 seed Andrey Rublev will have his hands full with unseeded Lorenzo Sonego, while the all unseeded fourth quarter final pits Federico Delbonis against Reilly Opelka.

On the WTA side, number 1 seed Ashleigh Barty takes on unseeded Coco Gauff, number 9 seed Karolina Pliskova meets unseeded Jelena Ostapenka, the only all-seed game pits 5 seed Elina Svitolina against number 15 seed Iga Swiatek while the fourth quarter is, like on the mens side, all unseeded between Petra Matric and Jessica Pegula.
