Live Sport Streaming – 10 and 11 April 2021 with Liberty Shield VPN

Hello, hello, hello and welcome to your Liberty Shields Live Sports blog for this upcoming weekend. Need a Live Sport Streaming VPN?

It’s April, though nobody has told the Irish weather apparently! Never mind though, the good weather isn’t far away and neither is the end of this pandemic. Fans are expected back in stadiums in the coming months and life is due to start moving back to something closer to normality as vaccine numbers continue to look good and lockdown restrictions ease. Fun Fact: Live Sport Streaming is one of the most searched terms on Google!

Our Live Sport VPN articles are brought to you in partnership with EPL Index, and Dave Hendrick – host of the Two Footed Podcast, offering FREE podcasts to football fans.

Anyway, the weekend is somehow here again so as usual we’ve put together a somewhat exhaustive list of the best live sport available to you over the next few days so let’s just jump straight in.

RMAFCB Real Madrid Barcelona IPTV VPN Streaming El Classico

There’s a full round of Premier League games on, so as usual we’ve gone ahead and previewed three for you which can be read right here.

Looking around the big five leagues, there’s a real lack of high profile matches outside of El Classico, but there should still be plenty to keep you entertained. The pick of the games from each of the top five leagues looks something like this.

La Liga – Real Madrid vs Barcelona on Saturday at 8pm

The biggest game in world football takes place Saturday night in what will be a strange El Classico played in front of no fans and at the tiny Alfredi Di Stefano Stadium, rather than the magnificent Santiago Bernabeu which is undergoing significant renovations. Barcelona come to town as the form team in La Liga having won six in a row, 13 of 14 and going unbeaten since losing 2-1 to Cadiz in early December. Ronald Koeman has struck gold with his 3 at the back system that involves Frenkie De Jong channeling his inner Mathias Sammer and playing as a libero.

Real are in good form themselves, having won their last three in a row, eight of their last 11 and losing only once since late November. They embarrassed Liverpool in the Champions League in midweek and may have their focus split this weekend. Zinedine Zidane will have to figure out whether to prioritise a game against their biggest rivals where defeat could see them fall to six points behind the league leaders and cost them a chance to win back to back titles, or the second leg to come at Anfield on Wednesday night where Liverpool are sure to put up far more of a fight than they did in Madrid last Tuesday.

Bundesliga – Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin on Saturday at 2.30pm

This is a David vs Goliath clash as the Mighty Bayern Munich welcome one of the smaller, but most popular among neutrals, clubs in the Bundesliga to Bavaria on Saturday afternoon. Bayern are seven points clear at the top of the table and, despite not looking nearly as strong as they did last season, marching towards a ninth title in a row. They come into the game off the back of a disappointing defeat to PSG in the Champions League at the weekend and missing star men Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry but still boasting one of the most talented attacks in world football and a host of talent in other areas.

Union are a club adored by the masses because of their story, their fanbase and their unlikely rise to the Bundesliga. Under Urs Fischer they’ve gone from 2. Bundesliga also-rans to a strong mid-table Bundesliga team with ambitions of European qualification. With their clever use of the loan market they’ve been able to somewhat bridge the financial gap between themselves and the rest of the Bundesliga. A club with an incredibly loyal fanbase, look up their 2004 “Bleed for Union” campaign if you have any doubts, this is a club that bucked against the establishment in the old East Germany and continues to do so today. Unless you’re a Bayern fan, you want Union to succeed.

Ligue 1 – Rennes vs Nantes on Sunday at 12pm

Ligue 1 doesn’t have a clash that jumps off the page, so when in doubt watch Rennes. Eduardo Camavinga should be enough of a reason why. The best young midfielder in world football, ahead of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Ryan Gravenberch, rarely fails to impress as he dictates games like a player ten years older than his 18 years of age. Camavinga is set for the very top of the game and will likely move on to a top club this summer so it’s a chance to familiarise yourself with him before the masses become more aware. Jeremy Doku is the other jewel in Rennes’ crown and he’s another who looks destined for great things. Compared to Sadio Mane for the last few years he was signed as a replacement for Leeds United bound Raphinha and he’s already impressed in Ligue 1 this season.

Nantes are having a terrible season, and are stuck in the middle of a relegation battle. Currently 19th in the table, they’re four points from safety and desperately need a win this weekend. They are already on their third manager of the season and if results don’t improve soon then notoriously impatient owner Waldemar Kita is likely to open door number 4 and see who else is available. Keep on an eye on goalkeeper Alban Lafont. A smart club will pick him up at a bargain price this summer.

Serie A – Fiorentina vs Atalanta – Sunday at 7.45pm

There isn’t a marquee clash in Serie A this weekend but this game stands to be one of the most exciting in Europe, in large part because of Atalanta taking part in it. Serie A’s most entertaining side have won three in a row and look a good bet to qualify for next year’s Champions League after turning things around after a bad run of form. With Cristian Romero marshalling an improved backline, and the usual suspects scoring goals galore, Mister Gasperini has once again got his team firing on all cylinders as we head into the final stretch of the Serie A season. Inter may be running away with the title, but Atalanta will have their eyes on second place. The currently sit just two points behind AC Milan.

Fiorentina flattered to deceive once again this season, and it’s another year of midtable mediocrity for La Viola but they do have some very talented players that make them well worth a watch. In defence Nikola Milenkovic is sure to attract plenty of attention from top clubs this summer, as will goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski. Their star turn in attack is Dusan Vlahovic who is already being linked with big money moves for the summer and figures to be a potential target for clubs who lose out in the Erling Haaland sweepstakes. The biggest reason to watch Fiorentina though is Franck Ribery. He’s 38 now and injuries combined with his age have slowed him from his magnificent peak but when it clicks, when everything is right, he can still steal the show. His flicks, tricks and intelligence can still combine to leave defenders with twisted blood as he slaloms through defences at will.

There’s events from both major MMA organisations this weekend with the UFC and Bellator both putting on quality fight cards. The UFC event runs Saturday, while Bellator have opted not to counter-program and will hold their event tonight, Friday.

Dana White and his team have put together UFC on ABC – Vettori vs Holland, which will be held at the UFC Apex venue in Las Vegas. The headline contest is a Middleweight match-up between submission specialist Marvin Vettori and KO artist Kevin Holland. This fight was originally meant to feature Darren Till taking on Vettori but a broken collarbone has sidelined the English man. Holland, who fought against Derek Brunson in a losing effort on March 20th has stepped in on short notice and will hope to bounce back and rediscover the form that saw him tie the record for the most wins in a calendar year when he won five fights in a row during 2020. Vettori has won his last four fights in a row but Holland will represent a step up in quality for the Italian.

There’s a couple of good fights on the undercard including the always entertaining “Platinum” Mike Perry taking on Daniel Rodriguez, and grappling expert Mackenzie Dern against Nina Ansaroff who makes her return after an almost two year hiatus. The card is also notable for the inclusion of 13 year UFC vet Jim Miller making his 37th appearance under the company banner. Miller, who holds the company record for the most wins in the 155lb division, takes on Joe Solicki as he retakes the record for most appearances in the company from Donald Cerrone.

The biggest fight of the weekend, in terms of name recognition, is happening at Bellator 256 as reigning Heavyweight, and former Light-Heavyweight, Champion Ryan Bader takes on former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida in a rematch of their 2012 UFC contest which Machida won with a devastating KO. Bader comes into this fight having lost his Light-Heavyweight crown to Vadim Nemkov in pretty devastating fashion last August but before that was in the best form of his career, dominating in two divisions to hold both titles at the same time. A seven fight win streak followed by a No Contest decision against Cheick Kongo had seen him establish himself as one of the top fighters in the sport. Machida’s recent record is chequered and has been hampered by a number of very questionable split decision losses, including in his last two fights against Gegard Mousasi and Phil Davis. At 42, Machida knows he doesn’t have many fights left and a win over Bader in what is a Quarter-Final contest in Bellator’s Light-Heavyweight Grand Prix will set him up for one last run at a title.

There are two big world title fights this Saturday night as undefeated IBF Junior Bantamweight Jerwin Ancajas puts the title he has held for five years on the line against dangerous Mexican Jonathan Javier Rodriguez who sports a 22-1 record and has recorded five KO victories in his last six fights. Ancajas will be the heavy favourite going into what will be his ninth title defence and the Filipino star will be hoping that a win will set up a lucrative unification bout against either Kazuto Ioka or Juan Francisco Estrada.

Elsewhere in America the vacant WBO Light-Heavyweight title will be on the line when Maxim Vlasov, 45-3, takes on Joe Smith Jr, 26-3 as both men seek to take home the title that Canelo Alvarez gave up in order to move back down in weight after he took it from Sergey Kovalev. A win for Vlasov would see all four of the major titles at Light-Heavyweight back in the hands of Russian fighters as Dmitry Bivol holds the WBA version, while the IBF and WBC belts are the property of the terrifying Artur Beterbiev.

Closer to home Conor Benn, son of the legend Nigel Benn, will put his WBA Continental Welterweight title on the line against Samuel Vargas of Colombia. There was some good back and forth between the pair at the final press conference and Benn will view this fight as another step on his path to a world title fight. This will be his fourth title defence and a win will take him to 18-0, but Vargas can not be overlooked as he brings a wealth of experience to the ring with his 31-6-2 record and 11 previous title fights.

It’s a massive weekend in the world of Golf with The Masters taking place at the historic Augusta National Golf Course. It’s the first major event of the year and takes place a mere six months after the 2020 edition because of the pandemic. Dustin Johnson ran away from the field last year, finishing an amazing 20 under to win by five clear strokes. This year’s competition, with an $11.5million prize fund up for grabs, promises to an entertaining event. Justin Rose set the early pace with an incredible -7 first round but his currently ongoing second round has been a disaster through eight holes, shooting 3 over at time of writing.

It’s a quiet weekend in International Cricket, though South Africa and Pakistan will continue their competitive rivalry and meet in a four match T20 that comes right off the back of a three match One Day International series that Pakistan edged by two victories to one. Domestically all eyes are on India as IPL 2021 gets underway.

There’s no notable tennis event over the weekend, but The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters starts on Tuesday and should be a very watchable event with Novak Djokovic and 11 time winner Rafa Nadal both set to take part.

The NBA season is getting towards Play-Off time, and there’s a clearer picture now of how those play-offs are going to stack up. With Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets becoming the clear favourite to win the MVP award, his team and others in the Western Conference will be looking to set up favourable match-ups in the first round of the playoffs. And by favourable, I mean avoiding the currently faltering LA Lakers who will hope to get Anthony Davis and LeBron James back healthy in time for the play-offs.

There’s plenty of good games scheduled this weekend with the pick of them being:
