Hi,
I Live in County Down N.I. in the UK.
I have a 2 no. MAG256 boxes and a VPN which does not work
ALL english premier League football matches are blocked.
Will your VPN let me receive all EPL football matches?
Regards,
ROBERT MARTIN

Thinking of getting a MAG Box VPN. At present I have a Talktalk wireless router with power adaptors. Questions – 1. Would the power adaptor be plugged in to the new VPN router and how would that affect the broadband speed? 2. How much does the Mag Box and the annual VPN cost? 3. What setting is required to get English Premier football? Living in UK.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Regards
Stuart
Hi, Apologies for the delay in our reply. The VPN Router can be plugged in to any spare port on your home network – either direct to your TalkTalk router or using powerline adaptors.
We don’t sell MAG Boxes but they are very popular with our VPN Routers and we have a helpdesk article, complete with video at http://helpdesk.scothosts.com/index.php?/ukp/Knowledgebase/Article/View/234/87/mag-box-with-vpn-router which explains more.

How much for a year sub for a vpn,and does your vpn router need any configuration
Hi, Apologies for the delay in our reply.
The renewal options after the FREE month can be found at https://www.libertyshield.com/home/pricingandplans/0, although please note there is current special offer of £49.99 for 1 year which you will see when you activate your router with us.
The VPN Router is already configured, you just need to connect it to a spare port on your home router and complete the activation process per the instructions in the box, it’s designed to be very simple indeed.
Hi, I leave in UK and I am watching a lot of IPTV including Polish channels, obviously they are getting blocked during the football matches and others live events. I am using the mag box 256 for IPTV. I just wonder is the VPN router ideal for me because you advertising only 6 countries.
Hi, Apologies for the delay in our reply. The country you select for your VPN doesn’t actually matter – they are all encrypted and cannot be logged or blocked by ISPs – we tend to say local is best, so for you using our UK VPN setting would be the best option and allow you to access all your IPTV content at any time.
We have a knowledgebase item at http://helpdesk.scothosts.com/index.php?/ukp/Knowledgebase/Article/View/229/87/iptv-blocked—streaming-problem
Iam hearing that using the vpn router ur speed is decreased a lot which could mean u dont have enough speed
Hi Gary, We have more info on the speed of the VPN Routers and the various solutions we can offer to bypass speed issues at http://helpdesk.scothosts.com/index.php?/ukp/Knowledgebase/Article/View/227/86/router-speed-problems.
Hi, just a quick question. Is it possible to install other VPN services on this router too? Thanks.
No Dan, this VPN Router is exclusive to the Liberty Shield network and a 1 month FREE trial coupon is included in the box.
Will this router work with zgemma and vusolo?
Hi, Zgemma we have tested with both WiFi and Ethernet Cable and it works fine; we’ve never tested Vu+ Solo but in theory there is no reason why it wouldn’t work.
How many devices can i use at same time
Hi Kevin – No upper limit on the number of devices you can connect to the VPN Router; obviously the more devices you connect the more they divide up the speed – that’s the only consideration really.
Hi, I’m based in Dublin/Ireland and using a Mag 254 box connected through a Virgin Media Router, currently with no VPN. The IP provider I’m using is based in the UK but are stopping operations due to legal stuff so I have been advised to find another provider along with a VPN. Can I connect my MAG box as shown in your video, without having to do any reconfiguration of my router.
Thanks in advance
Yes Alex, we have many customers using Virgin Media and connecting our VPN Router to their Virgin router and creating a new VPM enabled WiFi zone. Any devices you connect to the VPN Router will be encrypted and therefore cannot be logged or blocked by your Virgin.
Hi
Will this tunnel ALL traffic on my network through your VPN, or will it only tunnel the traffic connected through the VPN RJ45 ports?
Hi Nizam, Any devices you connect to the VPN Router using WiFi or RJ45 will get an encrypted VPN connection; whereas any devices you connect to your ISP Router using WiFi or RJ45 will get a regular connection from your ISP. I hope this helps.
Hi I live in Spain would this router and vpn work?
Hi Chris, abaolsutely and we have many customers in Spain using our VPN Router. We have a YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq4ilLo2rzA which shows using a FireTV stick for BBC iPlayer with a Spanish IP followed by a UK IP from the VPN Router.
hi in cannot cnnect a mag box using your VPN i cant get internet at all i usea hub 3 by virgin and it seems there is no pptp option, can i use the hub on modem mode and then just connct using your router?
You can indeed but the Hub 3 supports L2TP mode as standard and works great with our Pro Model VPN Router using OpenVPN.
Hi when I connect mag box to vpn lite router via Ethernet cable I get page loading Error but connects and loads up if I just use isp router
Hi Steve, Can you kindly contact our Helpdesk team at https://libertyshield.kayako.com who will be happy to assist you with this issue. They are available from 9am to 9pm, 7 days per week.
Hi will this work with a Mag322 box?
Yes Mark, our VPN Routers work with all MAG Box models and they can be connected to the VPN Router via ethernet cable or WiFi (if your MAG has WiFi option).
what affect does the VPN router have on broadband speed if the VPN router is tethered directly to the Sky modem.
Will the wifi continue to be emitted from the sky modem or is it emitted from the VPN router upon tethering of mag box to the vpn router?
Hi PJ,
Speed using an encrypted VPN will always be slightly slower than your ISP base speed. Sky are one of the better UK ISPs as speed is not throttled much, you can see some speed testing in our video at https://libertyshield.kayako.com/article/52-what-s-the-difference-between-the-pro-and-lite-vpn-routers which shows the difference between a UK ISP on both our Pro and Lite models. You should always get more than enough to speed to stream even multiple HD videos at the same time.
WiFi is sent from the VPN Router and your MAG would connect to it – or using ethernet cable to the VPN Router from the MAG. Nothing changes with your Sky modem and the WiFi on that just works as normal for your other devices.
I hope this helps.
Really helpful information regarding MAG boxes.
I think the trend of using IPTV will increase with time and its ease of accessibility.
Is your vpn 100% block proof
Hi Clem, Once connected to our encrypted VPN no ISP can log, monitor or block any internet traffic. They cannot block what they cannot see.
Hello, I live in Italy and I use a Mag 254W1 for IPTV only. Do you have servers in Italy or which is your suggestion? Vodafone Italy is my current provider.
Hi Giacomo, We don’t currently an offer an Italian VPN, but if you are using a MAG 254W1 for IPTV only then it shouldn’t matter which country it is set to. We do have VPN servers close enough to you in Switzerland, as well as France, Germany, Spain and the UK.
